AS YOU LIKE IT
"All the worlds a stage, and all the men and women merely players" Act 2 Scene 7
Sprite Productions return for their 6th season at Ripley Castle with
the wonderful, romantic comedy of As You Like It. Following last
years success with The Tempestthe company, who are renowned for
their inventive staging, will continue to challenge the audience’s
ideas of conventional theatre, by performing in and around the
spectacular grounds of Ripley Castle.
As usual, Sprite will be faithfully combining the traditional words of Shakespeare with their
much loved 'promenade style' of staging, to re-invent Shakespeare’s
story which takes the characters, and in this case our audiences,
into the magical 'Forest of Arden'.
Before the show, you can relax in Ripley Castle’s beautiful grounds
and enjoy a picnic in the warm evening sunshine. And then, you can
watch as one of Shakespeare’s most beautiful romantic comedies
unfolds around you.
Praise for past productions:
"Shakespeare at Ripley is an irresistible prospect"
The Yorkshire Post
"An unprecedented theatrical experience" Harrogate Advertiser
"Year by year, Sprite's cast surpass the previous one”
The Press (York)
